Hon. Susan L. Hubbard serves in the Family Law Section of the Third Circuit Court--Wayne County. Early in her career, she worked as a congressional analyst for the U.S. General Accounting Office and was later elected to the Dearborn City Counsel. After graduating from the Detroit College of Law, she was elected to the Wayne County Commission, where for 15 years she oversaw the county’s legal department and helped draft many laws, including the county’s first airport noise abatement law and ethics law. She was elected to the Wayne County Circuit Court in 2010 and was assigned to the domestic docket. Judge Hubbard was recently appointed to the Michigan Judicial Association (MJA) executive board. She serves on the Family Law Committee of MJA, where she was assigned to draft a proposed rule to address family court records. Judge Hubbard is also working with the Michigan Judicial Institute on the creation of an instructional video for pro se litigants.
