Raj A. Malviya has been practicing law since 2005. He is a partner in the Private Client Practice Group at the firm, and his legal and tax practice is focused on estate and tax planning and asset protection for individuals and organizations, with a subspecialty in handling estate and tax planning for international based families living in the United States or U.S. families living abroad of who have foreign connections. Mr. Malviya is involved in a number of professional associations, including the Taxation Section of the American Bar Association, the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan, and several sections of the Grand Rapids Bar Association, including the Probate and Estate Planning, Real Property, and Tax Sections. He is also a member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Professionals and a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Mr. Malviya is the cofounder and past president of the South Asian Bar Association of Michigan, and he served as the Michigan Liaison to the North American South Asian Bar Association. Mr. Malviya is ranked by Chambers in the annual High Net Worth guide, is recognized in Michigan Super Lawyers, is listed in "The Best Lawyers in America" for trusts and estates law as well as tax law, and was selected by the "Grand Rapids Business Journal" for its 40 Under Forty list. In January 2021, Mr. Malviya was named by "Grand Rapids Magazine" as one of the Best of Grand Rapids honorees for his reputation in estate planning. Mr. Malviya is a frequent lecturer and author on estate planning and tax topics at both the state and national levels.
