Marie E. Matyjaszek practices in the area of family law as the judicial attorney for the Hon. Darlene A. O'Brien of the Washtenaw County Circuit Court, having recently accepted this position after being with the Washtenaw County Friend of the Court for over nine years, last having worked there as a domestic relations attorney referee. Before this, she was in private practice for approximately 10 years, focusing almost exclusively on family law, in Jackson, Michigan. Ms. Matyjaszek is a board member and former secretary of the Michigan Association of Court Mediators and has been the past president and past secretary of the Jackson County Bar Association. She writes monthly columns for various legal news publications throughout the state of Michigan.
