Maria Fracassa Dwyer is the member in charge of the firm's Detroit office, a member of the firm's Labor and Employment Group concentrating in employment defense litigation and counseling, and the co-practice leader of the firm's Retail, Food, Beverage and Hospitality Team. She also currently serves as cochair of Clark Hill BOLD in Detroit and is a fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. Ms. Dwyer is a trusted advisor to senior management across a wide range of industries including public and private employers, represents clients across the entire spectrum of employment and labor law, and defends employers in employment-related claims. She is an Association of Title IX Administrators certified Title IX investigator and counsels universities and K-12 institutions in Title IX issues, serving as a hearing officer and investigator. Ms. Dwyer has frequently spoken on EEO and employment issues before various groups, including the State Bar of Michigan. She also advocates for prevention through education and specializes in training her clients' workforces. Ms. Dwyer has been repeatedly recognized by "The Best Lawyers in America," selected by "Hour Detroit Magazine" as one of the top women attorneys in Michigan, and named a Top Lawyer by "dBusiness." She was also included in the 2020 class of Influential Women of Law by "Michigan Lawyers Weekly."
