Robert J. MacDonald

Flint, Michigan


Robert J. MacDonald practices in the areas of worker's compensation, Social Security disability, and personal injury. He joined the law firm, founded by his grandfather, in 1996 as a third-generation plaintiff's worker's compensation attorney and practiced law with his late father Duncan MacDonald for 20 years. Mr. MacDonald clerked for Professor John Brennan at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, as well as in Genesee County Circuit Court. He has published columns on worker's compensation and other legal matters for the local UAW newspapers and in the "Flint Journal." Mr. MacDonald has given numerous seminars for UAW members and has been a lecturer on worker's compensation for the Michigan Association for Justice and Lorman Education Services. He is a member of the Genesee County Bar Association (GCBA), the State Bar of Michigan (as a member of the Workers' Compensation Law, Negligence Law, Social Security Lawyers, and Labor and Employment Law Sections), and the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives. He is a past president of the Michigan Association for Justice and served for years as chair of the organization's Workers' Compensation committee. Mr. MacDonald is currently serving on the Board of Governors for the Workers' Injury Law Group and the Michigan Automobile Insurance Placement Facility. He is also serving as the current chair of the GCBA's Social Security Committee.
