Janet E. Lanyon

Janet E. Lanyon practices in the areas of labor and employee benefits law and litigation. She has represented private- and public-sector employers in state and federal court litigation, collective bargaining, arbitration, development and administration of qualified and nonqualified employee benefit plans, and development of employment policies and strategies. Ms. Lanyon has represented employers before the U.S. Department of Labor, the Internal Revenue Service, the Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the National Labor Relations Board, and various state agencies. She is a frequent lecturer and has coauthored two books on labor and employment issues. Ms. Lanyon is a former adjunct faculty member in the masters in taxation program at Walsh College who taught courses in qualified retirement plans and welfare benefit plans. She is past president of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan and also of the Women's Bar Association. Ms. Lanyon is active in the State Bar of Michigan and the American Bar Association (Labor and Employment Law Sections) and is also a member of the Michigan Council of School Attorneys.
