Lawrence J. Acker concentrates his practice in the areas of legal malpractice, medical malpractice, and commercial litigation. An experienced trial attorney in all areas of his practice, he has also conducted arbitration hearings before the American Arbitration Association as well as served as an arbitrator. Mr. Acker is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He is a past member of the Character and Fitness Committee of the State Bar of Michigan, having served on district panel hearing committees and as special counsel. Mr. Acker's professional memberships include the Oakland County Bar Association, the Oakland County Bar Foundation, the State Bar of Michigan, the Michigan State Bar Foundation, and the American Arbitration Association. He has been listed in "The Best Lawyers in America" since 1999 as a nationally recognized specialist in legal malpractice. He is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell and has been named as a Michigan Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers for a number of years in the category of professional liability involving lawyers. Mr. Acker was also elected as a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a professional society that is devoted to recognition of experience and proficiency in the presentation of jury trials. He has also served on the editorial board of "Michigan Lawyers Weekly."
