Patrick A. King is of counsel to the firm and practices in the area of insurance law. He is primarily engaged in the representation of policyholders in matters involving first-party coverage disputes, including arson and fraud defenses. Mr. King has both prosecuted and defended claims against insurance agents alleging errors and omissions. He has addressed various insurance industry groups and fire investigation organizations on a variety of topics, principally regarding technical coverage interpretations and fire-legal issues. Mr. King has also served as an instructor at insurance company training schools for advanced investigative techniques and other aspects of claims handling and procedures. He has achieved the National Association of Fire Investigators' designation of certified fire and explosion investigator and has served as an alternate member on the National Fire Protection Association Technical Committee on Fire Investigations responsible for preparing NFPA 921, "Guide for Fire and Explosion Investigations." Although now essentially retired, Mr. King continues to field questions from those wishing to benefit from his more than four and a half decades of property insurance practice.
