Julius H. Giarmarco is chair of the firm's trusts and estates practice group. He is licensed to practice law in both Michigan and New York. Mr. Giarmarco's primary practice areas include estate planning, business succession planning, wealth transfer planning, asset protection planning, and life insurance applications. He is a former instructor in both the Chartered Life Underwriter and Certified Financial Planner programs. Mr. Giarmarco lectures frequently on a national basis, including speeches before the American Law Institute, American Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan, the Ohio State Bar Association, the International Forum, the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting, the Million Dollar Round Table, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Life Insurance and Market Research Association, the Financial Planning Association, Strafford CLE Webinars, and numerous life insurance companies, financial institutions, and trade associations. He has published a number of articles on estate planning appearing in professional journals such as the "Estates, Gifts and Trusts Journal," the "Practical Tax Lawyer," the "Journal of Practical Estate Planning," the "Journal of Financial Service Professionals," the "Michigan Bar Journal," and "Advisor Today" magazine. Mr. Giarmarco is also the author of "The Five Levels of Estate Planning," a nationally acclaimed brochure, and of the chapters on succession planning in two different ICLE publications. He has been selected by his peers as a Michigan Super Lawyer, as a Leading Lawyer, as one of the Best Lawyers in America, and as a Top Lawyer by "DBusiness" magazine.
