Stephen R. Gee is a partner in the firm's Detroit office. He advises and represents union and non-union employers on traditional labor and employment matters across a range of industries, including agriculture, healthcare, education, non-profit, construction, and automotive. Mr. Gee’s practice includes defending clients in civil rights matters, complex wage and hour class and collective actions, and prevailing wage disputes. He also counsels employers on compliance and day-to-day workplace issues involving the FMLA, ADEA, ADA and religious accommodations, Title VII, and labor relations, and assists with HR matters such as wage and hour/paid leave compliance, employee disputes, and workplace investigations. Mr. Gee regularly drafts non-competition agreements, multi-state policies, and executive employment contracts. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan’s Labor & Employment Law Section, and he frequently writes on labor and employment compliance and related issues. He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch (2023–2026).
