Ava Barbour has been an associate general counsel with the union since 2007. Ms. Barbour represents the union in both private and public sector labor and employment matters, including union organizing campaigns, collective bargaining, union security and dues-related issues, unfair labor practice charges, and other internal union advice. Prior to joining the UAW Legal Department, she was a Staff Attorney Fellow with the American Civil Liberties Union at its national headquarters in New York, and a law clerk to the Honorable Eric L. Clay, United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Ms. Barbour received her law degree from Boston University School of Law, in 2004.
