Susanne E. Crysler is an accomplished healthcare compliance lawyer with more than 21 years of combined private practice and in house experience. Ms. Crysler currently serves as Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer for the health system, providing strategic leadership for the system’s corporate compliance, internal audit, and enterprise risk programs. Prior to this role, she was senior counsel at Henry Ford Health, offering comprehensive legal guidance on a wide range of compliance matters, including fraud and abuse risks, Stark Law and Anti Kickback Statute compliance, billing and reimbursement issues, and physician arrangements. Ms. Crysler also advised on patient care issues, corporate transactions, and regulatory matters. She partnered closely with compliance leadership and senior executives, overseeing investigations, resolving concerns, and advancing education and training initiatives. Ms. Crysler routinely collaborated with state and federal regulators and oversight bodies. Before joining Henry Ford Health in 2019, she served as in house counsel for Ascension Health and was a shareholder at a nationally recognized health law firm. Ms. Crysler brings a valuable clinical background to her work, having practiced as a registered nurse and clinical nurse manager. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the American Health Lawyers Association.
