Liisa R. Speaker practices exclusively in the field of appeals, spending a significant amount of her practice on family law. She was appointed by the Michigan Supreme Court to her second four-year term on the Court Reporter and Recorder Board of Review and is a past chair of the State Bar of Michigan's Appellate Practice Section. She is also a past president of the Ingham County Bar Association and member of the Family Law Section’s amicus committee (since 2008). She has written and presented extensively on family law topics. Ms. Speaker has obtained favorable rulings for her clients, resulting in published opinions, including "Glaubius v Glaubius" (revocation of paternity); "Rose v Rose" (nonmodifiable spousal support); "Richards v Richards" (attorney fees in divorce); "Lieberman v Lieberman" (custody); and many others.
