Michael J. Watt focuses his practice on the litigation of claims involving automobile negligence, personal protection insurance (PIP) benefits, UM/UIM, premises liability, property damage, insurance coverage, and fraud. In the last 16 years he has tried more than 100 cases to verdict in a variety of matters including wrongful death, catastrophic injury, and product liability. An experienced litigator, Mr. Watt has represented clients in complex civil cases in state, federal, and appellate courts. Adept at handling first- and third-party no-fault defense litigation cases for numerous insurance companies, he represents clients in matters involving coverage and liability. He excels at devising litigation plans and engaging in all phases of pretrial matters in insurance defense (liability, coverage, and bad faith), premises liability, fire loss, and commercial litigation in high-exposure cases. Mr. Watt is a frequent speaker throughout the country for various companies and organizations concerning claims handling, practice issues, trial strategy, and food safety practices. He is often requested by clients to provide training on claim representative depositions and trial preparation.
