David P. Lucas concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning; estate administration; and probate, business, and employee benefits law. He is in private practice in Battle Creek and previously practiced with law firms in Detroit and Grosse Pointe Woods. Mr. Lucas is the past chair of the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan (SBM) and is a member of the SBM's Taxation, Health Care Law, Elder Law and Disability Rights, and Business Law Sections. Mr. Lucas is a member and former president of the Calhoun County Estate Planners Council and serves as board member and legal counsel for various nonprofit organizations. He has lectured on estate planning, employee benefits, and business matters and has written articles on drafting joint trusts and on tax-qualified retirement plans.
