Larry Horvath is director of the Bureau of Community and Health Systems (BCHS) within the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA). The bureau has regulatory oversight for state licensing of facilities, agencies, and programs including, but not limited to, nursing homes, hospitals, surgery centers, hospices, etc. In addition, the bureau is the state agency in Michigan on behalf of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for providers interested in being certified to participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Mr. Horvath is a graduate of the University of Michigan and has more than 25 years of governmental experience, including 15 years with the State of Michigan and 10 years with a local public health department.
