Stuart A. Gold

Southfield, Michigan

Stuart A. Gold is board certified by the American Board of Certification in both consumer and business bankruptcy law, is a fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy, and has been appointed a life delegate by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He is a past member of the State Bar of Michigan's Constitutional Law Committee and a member of the Florida Bar; the Federal Bar Association (former member of the board of directors for the Detroit chapter); the Commercial Law League of America; the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees; and the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI), where he currently serves on the advisory board for the Central States Bankruptcy Workshop and as cochair of the ABI Ethics and Professional Compensation Committee. Mr. Gold has served as a trustee and a mediator for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and as cochair of the court's advisory committee. In addition, he has served as an arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau. Mr. Gold is a past president of the Consumer Bankruptcy Association and past chair of the Oakland County Bar Association's Bankruptcy Committee. He is a frequent lecturer for ICLE, the ABI, Oakland University, and other professional organizations. Mr. Gold has been recognized by his peers as a Michigan Super Lawyer and a "dBusiness" Top Lawyer and is listed in "The Best Lawyers in America." He has also been honored for his pro bono services by the Federal, Oakland County, and Macomb County Bar Associations.
