John W. Fraser is the Michigan team leader of the firm's cannabis practice. He advises cannabis businesses of all sizes, providing effective leadership and counsel so clients can conduct their business effectively, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable laws. Mr. Fraser is a past chair of the Cannabis Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan and is an adjunct professor of law at Cooley Law School, where he teaches a course on Michigan marijuana and the law. He also regularly lectures and presents on cannabis law topics to attorneys and the community. Mr. Fraser has also been recognized by Michigan Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in cannabis law and appellate law since 2020, listed by The Legal 500 as a key lawyer for cannabis law in 2025, and included in the Ones to Watch list by "The Best Lawyers in America" in the area of government relations practice in 2025 and 2026.
