Channing Robinson-Holmes has specialized in employment and civil rights litigation for nearly 10 years. Her experience includes claims involving discrimination based on age, national origin, sex, race, disability, and sexual orientation, as well as claims of sexual harassment, assault, and retaliation, and violations of the Family Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act. Ms. Robinson-Holmes has built a successful track record protecting employees, including helping secure a confidential settlement on behalf of three former employees who were wrongfully terminated due to their sexual orientation and gender identity. Further, she appeared before the Michigan Supreme Court on behalf of the plaintiff in Jennifer Janetsky v Saginaw County in her 10-year fight for justice. Ms. Robinson-Holmes likewise has extensive experience in class action litigation. She represents the firm in the claims process of the Flint Class Action Partial Settlement of $624 million and is part of the leadership team pursuing additional claims on behalf of the class, a role that earned her finalist honors for the 2022 Public Justice Trial Lawyer of the Year Award. She also, along with the firm's cofounder Cary McGehee, represents two putative classes of women incarcerated in Michigan's Huron Valley Correctional Facility who suffered harm from a scabies outbreak and unhealthy mold conditions. She sits on ICLE's Labor and Employment Law Advisory Board and is a member of the Michigan Association for Justice Amicus Committee.
