Debra K. Martinez's areas of expertise are advocating and fighting for survivors of sexual abuse, prosecuting crimes committed against children, and evaluating discrimination and harassment in educational institutions. Before her current position with the firm, she served Ingham County as an assistant prosecuting attorney where she led the special victims unit and litigated complex and often high-profile sexual assault and abuse cases. Recently, Ms. Martinez served as the senior deputy Title IX coordinator at Michigan State University, previously having served as a senior investigator, evaluating and investigating reports of harassment and discrimination based on race, religion, sexual identity, gender identity, and other protected categories. She is a member of the Appellate Practice, Criminal Law, Litigation, and Negligence Law Sections of the State Bar of Michigan.
