Michael R. Shpiece practiced in the areas of employee benefits, health and hospital, insurance, regulatory, and administrative law. He was an adjunct professor of law at the Wayne State University Law School, teaching employee benefits law. Mr. Shpiece wrote law review articles and gave seminars in the areas of employee benefits and insurance. He also was chairperson of the Employee Benefits Committee of the Torts, Trial, and Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association; a member of the ABA's Joint Committee on Employee Benefits; and served on ICLE's executive committee. Mr. Shpiece died December 25, 2014.
