Bernard Dobranski is dean and president of the law school. Before joining Ave Maria, Dean Dobranski served as dean of the Catholic University School of Law in Washington, DC, where he strengthened the school's Catholic identity, upgraded its reputation in Bioethics, International Law, and Law and Religion, and greatly increased the diversity of the student body. As dean and professor of law at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, he oversaw one of that school's greatest growth periods. Dean Dobranski has also been a faculty member at the University of Notre Dame Law School and Creighton University School of Law. A well-respected arbitrator, Dean Dobranski has rendered more than 350 arbitration awards over the past 20 years. A former member of the Accreditation Committee of the American Bar Association's Section on Legal Education, he has taught courses in Labor Law, Collective Bargaining and Arbitration, Administrative Law, Federal Courts, Jurisprudence, Criminal Law, and Moral Foundations of Law.
