Bari Blake Wood is chief privacy officer for the state of Michigan, working in the Michigan Center for Data and Analytics (MCDA) within Michigan's Department of Technology, Management, and Budget (DTMB). As the state’s lead privacy official, Ms. Wood is responsible for directing a statewide privacy program and overseeing legal compliance across MCDA projects. Prior to this, Ms. Wood was an assistant attorney general in the Michigan Department of Attorney General where she focused on data sharing and privacy-related transactional matters, initially representing the Unemployment Insurance Agency and then DTMB. Ms. Wood is a long-time public servant, has been an attorney for over 17 years, and holds a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) credential.
