David E. Tanay

David E. Tanay has been chief of the Health Care Fraud Division of the Department of Attorney General, the federally certified Medicaid Fraud Control Unit for Michigan, since 2010. He has worked at the Department of Attorney General since 1996, when he was appointed an Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Division and worked on a financial crimes/money laundering task force. Following his involvement in the task force, he handled a variety of public corruption and fraud cases and cold-case homicides. Mr. Tanay was promoted to Criminal Division Chief in 2007 and supervised approximately 25 full-time department employees and several contract employees. He served on the executive committee for the National Association of Medicaid Fraud Control Units from 2012-2013.
