Hon. Anthony P. Patti

Hon. Anthony P. Patti was appointed as a U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of Michigan in 2015. Before that appointment, he had extensive employment litigation experience and served as general outside employment counsel for several clients. Judge Patti practiced for 24 years at Hooper, Hathaway, Price, Beuche & Wallace in Ann Arbor, in the areas of complex and general commercial litigation, trade secrets and unfair competition law, trademark and copyright law, employment and employment litigation, securities litigation, tort litigation, professional malpractice law, probate litigation, and appellate work. He has served as an adjunct professor at the Ave Maria School of Law and Cooley Law School, where he taught trial advocacy and medical malpractice courses. Judge Patti has taught political science and criminal justice courses at several other colleges and universities and is currently an adjunct faculty member at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. He has also contributed to ICLE as a speaker and author. Judge Patti's past ICLE contributions include multiple chapters in "Michigan Causes of Action Formbook" and the On-Demand Seminar "Discovery in Employment Law Cases."
