Robin D. Ferriby is involved in gift and philanthropic planning for individuals, families, and businesses. He represents foundations and nonprofit organizations on a variety of governance, tax, gift, and grant-related matters. He is actively involved in legislative and regulatory affairs both at a state and federal level. Mr. Ferriby served for 18 years as a member of the Probate and Estate Planning Section Council of the State Bar of Michigan. He is the primary drafter of the Michigan Uniform Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act (“UPMIFA”) and has been involved in other Michigan legislation, including the Estates and Protected Individuals Code (“EPIC”) and repeals of the Michigan inheritance tax and intangibles tax. He has been named a 2016-2017 Distinguished Scholar in Residence in the Center on Community Philanthropy at the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service, and is a 1993 fellow of the Michigan Political Leadership Program at Michigan State University.
