Carlo J. Martina

Carlo J. Martina's practice focuses solely on family law. A past chair of the Collaborative Practice Institute of Michigan and the State Bar of Michigan Family Law Section Council, Mr. Martina has served as both chair and cochair of the section's family support and court rules committees. He also previously served on the State Court Administrative Office's family law forms committee and the Michigan Child Support Formula Manual revisions committee. Mr. Martina has served, by appointment of the Michigan Supreme Court, on the Michigan Child Support Leadership Council and was involved in numerous revisions of the Michigan Child Support Formula Manual. He has appeared in hearings before the Michigan Supreme Court on behalf of the Family Law Section Council on issues involving child support, evidence, and ethics. A member of the Oakland, Livingston, and Washtenaw County Bar Associations, Mr. Martina is also a member of the Wayne County Family Law Bar Association, where he served as strategic planning committee chair and subsequently its president. He has served as a legal advisor or board member for numerous community groups and was a legal consultant and featured speaker on the community service video "Latchkey Kids: Home Alone and Safe." Mr. Martina has been a speaker at numerous Family Law Section and ICLE seminars on subjects ranging from support, custody, and parenting time to ethics, marital waste, and change of domicile. He was the recipient of a lifetime achievement award, presented at the 25th anniversary of the Wayne County Council Against Family Violence, as well as the Purple Rose Award from the Arab American Center for Economic and Social Services for his work representing domestic violence survivors and helping to establish the Arab American Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
