Monika Holzer Sacks

The Villages, FL


Monika Holzer Sacks practiced in the areas of family law, mediation, collaborative practice, and arbitration and also practiced as a parenting coordinator and is now retired. She also served as a divorce mediator since 1992 and was a former president of the Washtenaw County Bar Association, where she also chaired the Family Law Section. Ms. Sacks has served with several groups in the State Bar of Michigan, including the Representative Assembly and the Character and Fitness Committee. She served on the Attorney Discipline Board. She has been a fellow of the Michigan State Bar Foundation, a fellow and past president of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Michigan Chapter, and past president of the Collaborative Practice Institute of Michigan. Ms. Sacks has also been a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. She has published articles in "Michigan Lawyers Weekly," the American Bar Association's "Family Law Quarterly," and "Lawyer's Weekly." Ms. Sacks was a frequent lecturer for ICLE and others. In 2015, she received the Blaine B. Johnson Jr. Award, presented by the State Bar of Michigan and ICLE for outstanding contributions to continuing education.
