John H. Martin

Muskegon, Michigan


John H. Martin is of counsel to the firm in Muskegon. He is a fellow (and past Michigan chair) of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Mr. Martin served as reporter for the Drafting Committee of the Estates and Protected Individuals Code and is the author of the commentary to that code published annually by ICLE. He was a professor of law at the University of North Carolina for eight years and at Ohio Northern University for nine years. While at Ohio Northern he was designated the Ella A. and Ernest H. Fisher Professor of Law. In addition, Mr. Martin taught at the National Trust School of the American Bankers Association from 1977 to 1996 and as a visiting professor at the law schools of Duke University and the Universities of Michigan, Virginia, and Texas. He served as chair of the Probate and Estate Planning Section Council of the State Bar of Michigan and has spoken at numerous ICLE seminars regarding probate and estate planning.
