Hon. Thomas J. Tucker was appointed in 2003 as a bankruptcy judge for the Eastern District of Michigan, sitting in Detroit. Following graduation from Harvard Law School in 1981, he clerked for Hon. Albert J. Engel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Judge Tucker then entered private practice for 20 years with the law firm of Cooper and Walinski, LPA, of Toledo, Ohio, where he focused on commercial litigation, including bankruptcy, Uniform Commercial Code, and contract dispute matters. He was serving as a member of the firm's three-person board of directors when he was selected for the bankruptcy court.
