John A. Hohman, Jr. is a mediator and arbitrator, working throughout the state of Michigan. Since 2015, Mr. Hohman has mediated and arbitrated more than 780 cases in 36 counties, focusing primarily on probate and family matters. He was a probate and family judge in Monroe County for 16 years and was twice named Michigan Jurist of the Year for his work in creating and implementing innovative practices in child protective proceedings. He left the bench in 2013 to serve as the State Court Administrator. Mr. Hohman was a frequent faculty member of the Michigan Judicial Institute and has authored numerous publications on effective courtroom practices. He most recently authored the section on probate court disputes for the "ABC’s and More of ADR; A Practice Guide for Judges and Attorneys."
