Saul A. Green is the deputy mayor and group executive for public safety of the City of Detroit. Prior to his appointment as deputy mayor, he was senior counsel and a member of Miller Canfield's Criminal Defense Group and Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group, specializing in alternative dispute resolution, white-collar crime, and high-profile litigation. Mr. Green was appointed U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan by former President William J. Clinton and served in that capacity from 1994 to 2001. During his many years of public service, he has held the positions of corporation counsel of Wayne County; chief counsel of the Detroit Field Office of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; and assistant U.S. attorney. Mr. Green also served as the independent monitor overseeing implementation of police reforms in Cincinnati, OH. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School.
