Eric M. Nemeth is a firm partner and leads the firm's tax team. He concentrates his practice on tax and financial controversy (IRS and various states) including examinations, appellate conferences, criminal investigations, witness representation, and civil and criminal tax litigation. Mr. Nemeth has served as senior trial attorney for the District Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service and special assistant U.S. attorney for the Department of Justice, as well as a judge advocate general for the U.S. Army Reserve. A former chairperson of the Taxation Sections of both the State Bar of Michigan and the Federal Bar Association, Mr. Nemeth is a frequent speaker on tax enforcement and has served as an expert witness and binding arbitrator. He helped prepare the next generation of tax attorneys as an adjunct professor of tax at Michigan State University College of Law and continues to serve on the board of directors of the law college's Tax Clinic.
