Douglas G. Chalgian is one of the few attorneys in Michigan who is certified in elder law by the National Elder Law Foundation. A member of the State Bar of Michigan, he is a member of its Probate and Estate Planning Section Council and a former chairperson of the Elder Law and Disability Rights Section. Mr. Chalgian is the author of Michigan Medicaid Planning Handbook and an editor and author of Advising the Older or Disabled Client, both published by ICLE. A regular speaker on elder law issues, he has also published articles in the Michigan Bar Journal, the Michigan Probate and Estate Planning Journal, The Elder Law Advocate, and Michigan Lawyers Weekly. Mr. Chalgian is involved in various community activities, including the board of directors of the Alzheimer's Association (Great Lakes Chapter), the Michigan Society of Gerontology, and the Thomas M. Cooley Law School Sixty Plus Elderlaw Clinic. |
