Maureen T. Taylor practices in the areas of commercial litigation, products liability defense litigation, product safety, and automotive regulatory issues. She was formerly a member of Butzel Long's electronic discovery team and had experience in high profile national cases defending catastrophic product liability and tort litigation involving a wide array of automotive component parts, power tools, and pharmaceuticals. Ms. Taylor has also been a member of a punitive damages trial team defending a manufacturer in a product liability class action brought on behalf of over 500,000 plaintiffs. She is a member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI), the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel, the American Bar Association, and the State Bar of Michigan. Ms. Taylor is coauthor of the Michigan chapters of "Products Liability Defenses: A State by State Compendium" (DRI) and "Product Liability Desk Reference: A Fifty State Compendium" (Aspen Publishers), as well as author of numerous newsletters regarding the TREAD Act and its implications. She is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif, managing editor of the "University of Pittsburgh Law Review," and a legal writing teaching assistant.
