An attorney in private practice since 1982 as well as a certified public accountant, Nancy H. Welber concentrates her practice in the areas of estate and retirement planning, as both the primary and the consulting attorney, with considerable experience in the area of planning with 403(b) annuities. She also practices in the area of probate and trust administration. Ms. Welber is of counsel to Mall, Malisow & Cooney, PC, in Farmington Hills, and Ferguson Widmayer, PC, in Ann Arbor. She is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and a member of the ACTEC employee benefits and elder law committees. Ms. Welber serves on the council of the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan. She was a speaker at the 2009 University of Miami Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning and is a frequent lecturer on the topics of estate planning with retirement benefits and the need for estate planning in general. Ms. Welber is also coauthor of two articles in the American Bar Association's "Probate and Property Journal" and was the winner with her coauthor of the journal's 2009 Excellence in Writing Award for the best practical use article in trust and estate law. She is listed in "The Best Lawyers in America," has been named as a Michigan Super Lawyer, and was named by "dBusiness" magazine as a Five-Star Wealth Manager.
