Antoinette S. Porter

Antoinette S. Porter is manager of the Employment and Labor group in-house at DTE Energy. She advises leaders and human resources personnel on employment issues such as EEOC/MDCR, FMLA, FLSA, and immigration matters. She is a subject-matter expert for the company’s ADA Committee and manages Affirmative Action Plan audits by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs. Ms. Porter provides guidance on matters of diversity and inclusion, electronic discovery, and worker’s compensation. She was the first Latina and first two-term president of the Detroit Bar Association Barristers, where she served as director since 2008 and was named "Barrister of the Year" in 2009. She is actively involved with the Barristers’ School Partnership Program, bringing exposure of legal careers and issues to Detroit Public Schools students, and partners with Third Circuit Chief Judge Robert Colombo, Jr., to bring more than 300 students to "Law Day" on an annual basis. Ms. Porter was an instructor for the University of Michigan Law School’s Minority Affairs Program, a member of the Latino Law Student Association (LLSA) and the Black Law Students Association (BLSA), and a contributing editor for the "Michigan Journal of Race and Law." She also earned a Master of Business Administration from Madonna University, with certification in Human Resources, and has earned her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.
