Hon. Lorie N. Savin was elected to the bench and has been assigned to the Family Division since January 2021. She also currently serves as an appointee on the State Bar of Michigan’s Professionalism Workgroup. Prior to her current position, Judge Savin served the court as a referee with the Oakland County Friend of the Court for almost 18 years. During her legal career, she also worked for a legal aid organization, in a small firm, and at a nonprofit where she represented children in juvenile court proceedings. Judge Savin is a member of several professional organizations and has held leadership roles with the Referees Association of Michigan and the Michigan Inter-Professional Association on Marriage, Divorce and the Family.
