Cristina D. Lockwood

Cristina D. Lockwood is a professor of law at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. After law school, Ms. Lockwood served as an associate for a New York firm specializing in corporate transactions. On returning to Michigan, she worked for a real estate transaction firm and joined the Detroit Mercy Law faculty as an adjunct professor. In 1995, Ms. Lockwood joined the faculty full-time to teach in the innovative Applied Legal Theory and Analysis program. In addition, she teaches professional responsibility and torts. Ms. Lockwood has coauthored books, including "Successful Legal Analysis and Writing: The Fundamentals" (2017) and "Michigan Legal Research" (3d ed 2016), and written several law review articles on various topics. Her most recent work focuses on professional responsibility and the impact of certain professional conduct rules on the poor.
