Specializing in trademark matters, Lisabeth H. Coakley has more than 35 years of combined experience as in-house and outside counsel. She works with clients to develop worldwide strategies for achieving their business objectives in branding and prosecutes, enforces, licenses, and maintains trademarks in over 150 countries. Ms. Coakley has an extensive prosecution and administrative litigation practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. She has chaired several civil jury trials and served as an expert witness and as a teaching fellow. Ms. Coakley also has experience in matters involving counterfeit goods, U.S. Customs seizures, e-commerce, domain name disputes, dilution, and unfair trade issues. In addition, she is a certified neutral commercial arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association, a member of the panel of neutrals for the INTA alternative dispute resolution program, and a certified mediator. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Coakley worked for the chief justice of the Michigan Supreme Court and was in-house counsel for the world's largest retailer, where she held the position of vice president and intellectual property counsel.
