George F. Bearup is a senior legal trust advisor at the firm. He used to practice in the areas of estate planning, retirement planning, and divorce law. He is a member of the Family Law, Business Law, Elder Law, and Real Property, Trust, and Estate Law Sections of the American Bar Association; the Family Law and Probate and Estate Planning Sections of the State Bar of Michigan; and the Grand Traverse-Leelanau-Antrim Bar Association. A frequent speaker and moderator for ICLE seminars, Mr. Bearup has written several articles on divorce and probate and estate planning. A fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, he has been listed in "The Best Lawyers in America" (Trusts) for 25 years and has been named as a Michigan Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers.
