Valerie L. Peterson is CEO of the nationwide member services organization, which supports elder law and special needs lawyers. Before joining ElderCounsel, she practiced law in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, where she was the owner of Peterson Law Office and later Fisher and Peterson PC, a firm specializing in the areas of elder law and estate planning. In addition to serving as CEO, Ms. Peterson serves as the education director for ElderCounsel and has taught elder law and veterans benefits courses for numerous national organizations. Since 2012, she has served as an adjunct professor for Stetson Law School where she teaches the veterans benefits course. She has spoken at many nationwide events, including the NAELA Summit, bar association meetings in Oklahoma, Alabama, and Missouri, and more.
