Nancy George

Nancy M. George is an Associate Professor (clinical) in Wayne State University's College of Nursing and assistant director for the college's Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) program. She also serves as a consultant for Nurse Practitioners Unlimited. Previously she was the Nurse Practitioner Clinical Consultant at the Michigan Department of Community Health and a Nurse Practitioner at Primary Care Nursing in Detroit. She is president of the Michigan Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and a member of the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculty, where she previously was a program director and special interest group chairperson. Ms. George has written pieces for a number of peer-reviewed publications. She was the 2011 recipient of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners State Excellence Award and the 2001 recipient of the Ella E. McNeil Memorial Award for Excellence in Community Health Nursing from the University of Michigan School of Nursing. She also participated in the 2002 Graduate Women's Leadership Program at the University of Michigan's Center for Education of Women and is a member of the Detroit Wayne County Health Authority Primary Care Network Council.
