Michael Pomeranz is a partner at the firm. Mr. Pomeranz prevents and resolves disputes for closely held and publicly traded businesses, individual entrepreneurs, and tax-exempt organizations represent clients across the country and around the world, particularly in Israel, as well as in Asia and Latin America, in many industries, including: finance and insurance; health care, health insurance, and fitness; land use, real estate, and demolition and restoration; media and entertainment; and technology. Mr. Pomeranz focuses his practice on the accurate and efficient resolution of complex commercial disputes that involve allegations about contracts, corporate governance and shareholder disputes, deceptive trade practices and fraud, and intellectual property. He has handled matters in more than dozen states in both state and federal court, including bankruptcy and appeals court, as well as the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Pomeranz also handles mediation and arbitration proceedings, both under the aegis of organizations such as AAA and in ad hoc arbitration proceedings. He focuses on the innovative and effective use of technology to deliver legal services. Mr. Pomeranz's knowledge of technology, ESI best practices, and information governance allows him to conduct eDiscovery and other phases of litigation efficiently and cost-effectively. His interest in and knowledge of legal technology has made him a sought-after speaker on these topics. Mr. Pomeranz formerly served as law clerk to Hon. Andrea R. Wood of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and to Hon. Danny J. Boggs of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Additionally, he worked at the New York office of a large international law firm in the Complex Litigation and Trials group. A former New York City Urban Fellow, Mr. Pomeranz maintains a keen interest in education, land use, and other aspects of local government and urban policy.
