Joshua B. Kay is a clinical professor of law at the university. He teaches primarily in the Child Advocacy Law Clinic. He has also taught in the Veterans Legal Clinic, Juvenile Justice Clinic, Domestic Relations Mediation Clinic, and Child Welfare Appellate Clinic. Mr. Kay has litigated numerous child abuse and neglect cases in trial courts, Michigan Court of Appeals, and Michigan Supreme Court. He earned both his PhD in clinical psychology and law degree from the University of Michigan. After law school, he joined Michigan Protection and Advocacy Service as a Skadden Fellow, where he represented parents with disabilities in child welfare cases and provided statewide consultation in child protection cases involving parents and children with disabilities.
