Hon. Julia Bramlage Owdziej took the bench in 2014 and currently presides over the entire probate docket and juvenile delinquency docket. She started her legal career as an assistant attorney general representing DHHS in neglect hearings in Wayne County. She moved to Washtenaw County in 1991 and was as an assistant prosecuting attorney for eight years. This was followed by 15 years as a referee in the juvenile division. Judge Owdziej was appointed deputy probate register in 2011. She is a graduate of Detroit College of Law and obtained her undergraduate degree in criminal justice from Michigan State University.
