Hon. Megan Maher Brennan is a Wayne County Circuit Court judge serving in the Family Division since January 2006. During that time, she has been assigned to both the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Sections. First appointed to the Court in 2005, Judge Brennan was retained in the November 2006 election and re-elected to a six-year term in November 2008. She presently serves on the court's Executive Committee, Domestic Docket Review Committee, and Family Court Pilot Mediation Project, as well as the Michigan Judicial Institute's Family Division Academic Advisory Committee. In earlier segments of her career, Judge Brennan served in the Labor Division of the Michigan Department of Attorney General as an assistant attorney general; in private practice focusing on labor and employment law; at Madonna University Graduate School of Business, teaching business law; at Bodman, LLP, specializing in commercial litigation; and for the City of Grosse Pointe Park as an assistant city attorney. After graduation from Wayne State University Law School, Judge Brennan was employed as a judicial attorney for the late Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Dorothy Comstock Riley. She is a current member of the State Bar of Michigan's Family Law Section, the Wayne County Family Law Bar Association, the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association, the Incorporated Society of Irish American Lawyers, the Lakeshore Bar Association, and the Michigan Supreme Court Historical Society. Judge Brennan is a board member of the Michigan Judges Association and the Family Center of Grosse Pointe and a past board member of the Children's Charter of the Courts of Michigan, American Inns of Court Program, Northeast Guidance Center, and Freedom House.
