Hon. Charles G. Goedert is a judge in the 43rd Judicial District, hearing civil, criminal, and traffic matters. Prior to taking the bench, he was a litigation attorney practicing in the areas of appellate, construction, family, and matrimonial law; alternative dispute resolution; and commercial, business, insurance, and tort litigation. Judge Goedert also served as a prehearing attorney for the Michigan Court of Appeals, where he reviewed lower court records and appellate briefs, performed research, and provided an analysis and a recommended disposition of pending appeals. In addition, he has served the City of Ferndale in several ways, as a former mayor and council member and as a member of the Ferndale Plan Commission, the Board of Zoning Appeals, the Downtown Development Association, the Police and Fire Board, the Police and Fire Pension Board, and the Employees Pension Board. Judge Goedert is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School.
