Hon. John N. Kirkendall has retired from the bench of the Washtenaw County Circuit Court - Family Division, where he served as chief judge. He serves on the faculties of ICLE, the Michigan Judicial Institute, the National College of Probate Judges, and the National Judicial College. A past president of the National College of Probate Judges, Judge Kirkendall serves on the Advisory Council for the Elder Law Center of the National Center for State Courts; on the Advisory Council for Elder Law Issues of the Stetson University College of Law; and on the Faculty Advisory Council on Elder Abuse for the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges. He is a member of the advisory committee for "Michigan Family Law Benchbook" (ICLE) and writes and lectures periodically about issues affecting judges and others in family practice.
