Mindy Koch

Mindy Koch recently retired as the natural resource deputy from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. In this position, she managed statewide policy development and implementation for the state's natural resource programs, including fisheries, wildlife, forestry, mineral development, recreation, public land management, and conservation law enforcement. Ms. Koch held a number of senior level management positions within state government during her 32 years of public service, including legislative liaison, assistant to the environmental deputy director, division chief of the waste management division, real estate division chief, forest management division chief, deputy director for southern Michigan, and resource management deputy director. She is experienced in conflict resolution, public policy facilitation, and the development of collaborative problem-solving efforts in environmental and natural resource programs. Ms. Koch has served on the Michigan Environmental Review Board, the Water Resources Commission, the State Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Commission, the Aeronautics Commission, the Michigan Women's Commission, the Climate Action Council, the Forest Finance Authority, and the Great Lakes Fisheries Trust.
